    Hello Kelsey,

I haven't been in the scholarship position for even a year yet, but based on the documentation that was left before I came in, it seems like the excel method was used with the person before me as well.

I'm not sure what is all happening on your side but I know that our office does not send money back and forth with the State. We will just reconcile what we have awarded with what was sent to us in the fall, and determine if we owe the State money or if the State owes us money just once in the spring.

I also know that the directors just had their meeting and that the State was there. Not sure if this process was discussed though.

Out of curiosity, do you have any ideas of how to make the process better?

I'm not sure who is all subscribed to this forum but hopefully some other scholarship coordinators will chime in.

Hello all, I know Daniel started this feed a while ago, but I was hoping to get some insight, or advice from you all on the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship. The current system of going back and forth with spreadsheets between our office and SBOE is very cumbersome and inefficient. Has this scholarship always been processed this way? It seems like a very old process that I'm sure made sense at one time, but taking into account that funds are reallocated throughout the year, and awards come in late, isn't there a better way to process these scholarship awards?

We had our first request for a new forum topic and I agree that it is a good one! At the 2016 fall conference we had a scholarship breakout session that generated a lot of great discussion between the schools. Unfortunately, the time we had was not enough for everyone to ask questions to help them manage the process at their school. This forum is a tool we can all use to help each other out. Please feel free to use it even if you were not at the session and remember to subscribe at the top to get notifications of when people add to the forum.
