Hello,

I am excited to see everyone! I have been in IASFAA for several years and the conference is always a great experience. 

I love to explore my own backyard - by gardening both flower and vegetable, although not always with the greatest success.  Although that may be half the fun, I am often found out puttering in the yard with my dog.

Also enjoy exploring my Idaho - backyard by camping in the many wonderful spots thru out our great state.  There are always new places to check out and hear about.  The last few years my husband (Bob) and I have been expanding our dutch oven skills and are always looking for a recipe to try. 

When the weather is cold I hide in my sewing room and try to be a quilter or seamstress but both of those titles are a work in progress.

Hello fellow financial aid friends!

I was a stay at home mom and NNU Alumni when the market crashed in 2008 forcing me to go back to work.  The one and only place I applied to work was NNU and delighted when they hired me!  I have been here ever since and will probably be for at LEAST another 4 more years since I have a senior in high school this year.  I certainly don't get bored doing this job!  And as someone else has already mentioned, I really do think financial aid people really are the most kind hearted.  What a great bunch I have to work with.

We are in the process of remodeling a small farmhouse and about ready to move into it in a few weeks.  YAHOO!!  Outside of work, my favorite activities are reading, antiquing and quilting.  I just learned how to quilt this year and started a quilt blog called Color, Creating, and Quilting to document my journey.   If you enjoy quilting at all, I would love to have you stop by and visit!

I'm looking forward to my first IASFAA conference this fall. I've worked in financial aid for almost three years at Boise State, and I appreciate that there is always more to learn! 

Some of the most caring and compassionate people I have met are working in financial aid at Boise State, and I'm sure all IASFAA members are just as kind and caring. I look forward to meeting you all. 

Hello everyone in financial aid land.

I look forward to seeing everyone at this year's conference.  It is always fun to see those from other parts of the state that we don't get to associate with very often.

After a few years now in financial aid, I have come to realize it is all new.  It seems that if you think you are comfortable with what the answer to a question is, that answer will change with the next round of regulations.  When I began in financial aid, we would talk about how difficult the process was becoming.  If only we knew then what it was going to be like now, we may have jumped ship.  I have to chuckle when I see parents bringing their children to college now that remember the regulations when they were students and don't understand why the same rules don't apply now.  Sad thing is I may have been the one helping them with their financial aid and am now doing their children's and soon possibly their grandchildren's financial aid.

Hello all,

I recently became a financial aid officer for the graduate and adult programs here at NNU. Before that, I spent the last year as the loan specialist/office manager. That gives me a whopping 14 months in financial aid!

I graduated from NNU in 2013 with a degree in English, and then went to work in banking (I know, that doesn’t add up). I was lucky enough to get on with the great people here shortly after, and I look forward to many more days of fun-having while we work.

I am married to a lovely lady, and we just welcomed our first little kiddo (a girl!). In our free time we play a lot of sports, specifically volleyball, basketball, and ultimate Frisbee. I also enjoy watching sports (go Hawks!).

This will be my second IASFAA Conference and I’m looking forward to learning as much as I can from my fellow ‘Financial Aid-ians’!
